"Early one morning I heard a voice in the gas tank telling me to drive a
big green car because war is bad for children."
Duck 'n Cover is a 1973 Checkered Cab with a nuclear theme including a couple of
bombs, lots of warning signs, a gas mask, and loud speakers to announce the end
of the world - or just to play cartoon theme songs.
Owner/Artist Guy Seven is an industrial engineer with a vision and a very large
canvas. Duck 'n Cover really makes a scene with a carload of enthusiastic
passengers, usually similarly attired, accompanied by the off-the-cuff music and
sound effects that blare from the sound system in the car and on the roof.
Guy has several other cars he hopes to complete in the future, one of which is a banana-colored Thunderbird with suicide doors.
Duck 'n Cover is currently
residing at the Art Car Park along with Guy's other vehicles.
